August 2, 2008. This update comes from Golden, Colorado. My short time here in the US is almost at an end. I have been very busy. Biscuit and I will be flying from Chicago to Frankfurt on 28, August. The bike is still in pieces in the garage of a friend of mine, Matt Zalinski. Without Matt's help I'm not sure what I would have done! Ditto for Dale and Sandy Ploung. They took me into their home for almost a week (that takes fortitude) and helped me bring the bike up to speed. Dale has ridden a whopping 27,000 miles in the Americas on a classic BMW- Sandy was along for much the ride. There is much more to report about my time in the US- and about the people I've met since I've been here. In a month I'll attend the Horizons Unlimited meet in Malaga, Spain. I'll give another presentation there. After that I will be back "home" in Africa. This site is still being overhauled and I am working on a book about Africa. To say I have been busy during my short time in the US would be an understatement. Things are happening at a fast pace these days! Dave.
